Speak the Speech
Led by Julie Congress
This experiential, “non-academic” exploration is offered to open up your imagination as an actor as we explore a Shakespearean speech together as an ensemble. After a thorough voice warmup, you will be guided through exercises to play with and unlock Shakespeare’s text, providing possibilities of expression, and allowing the words to become your own. This workshop provides a safe space for practice and discovery as we explore how the soundscape, form, inner debate, and linguistic patterns that make up the speech reveal character and provide freedom in landing each new thought. Open and appropriate for all levels of experience. Led by Julie Congress. Each virtual session has a suggested donation of $45 or $75 for both.
